Trump calls out CNN again as “fake news”

President Trump is not a man to allow the media to dictate his message. On Saturday he called CNN out for their, “vicious and purposeful mistake.” They claimed his son Donald Trump, Jr., had received access to documents WikiLeaks had acquired from the Democratic National Committee during last year’s election.

Trump tweeted, “Fake News CNN made a vicious and purposeful mistake yesterday. They were caught red handed, just like lonely Brian Ross at ABC News (who should be immediately fired for his “mistake”). Watch to see if @CNN fires those responsible, or was it just gross incompetence?”

Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with the giant media organization began in earnest during his run for the presidency. He has repeatedly called CNN and other news outlets “fake news.” In his Saturday tweet he referenced ABC’s chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross who earlier this month reported misinformation about former national security adviser Michael Flynn and allegations of collusion between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russian officials.

Ross has been suspended by ABC for four weeks over the transgression. The mistake caused ABC to issue a correction that had implicated the Trump campaign over a critical element of the continuing Russia probe over last year’s presidential election.

Trump called CNN’s reporting something from, “the least trusted name in news.” He also suggested they fire “those responsible” for the errors in reporting.
