Mainstream Media Fear: Troutman Says Outlets Scared of His Independent CA-47 Bid

Eric J. Troutman says mainstream media fear keeps outlets scared of covering his independent run for Congress.

In a January 29 press release from Irvine, California, Troutman said outlets spotlight party candidates and skip him.

To check, NewsBlaze ran Google site:ocregister.com searches for “Eric Troutman”, “Eric J. Troutman”, “Troutman Amin”, “AmericaDeservesToWin”, “TroutmanForAmerica”, and “winners@troutmanforamerica.com”. Screenshots show Google returned no results for each query.

Google returned no OC Register results for those searches.

NewsBlaze also searched the Orange County Register’s internal search for the same terms. That search returned no results.

Search tools can miss items, and archives can change. Still, the searches match Troutman’s claim of no coverage.

Mainstream Media Fear Claim Targets OC Register Profiles

Troutman said two CA-47 opponents received “significant coverage” in the Orange County Register and elsewhere.

He described one opponent as 28 and the other as 75.

In the release, Troutman called them “lightweights” and said, “Nobody wants these guys.”

He contrasted that with his own claims.

“I’ve stopped billions of robocalls, disrupted the entire legal industry and am literally the most expensive attorney in the history of the world … and not a peep,” Troutman said.

He tied the gap to party labels.

“Bias. Pure and simple. And it’s so obvious,” Troutman said.

Troutman pointed to OC Register reporter Kaitlyn Schallhorn’s 2025 profiles of Michael Maxsenti and Hunter Garcia Miranda.

In the Maxsenti profile, Schallhorn described him as a “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. acolyte” and quoted him promoting the “MAHA” agenda.

She also quoted Maxsenti on affordability pressures, including housing and health care costs.

In the Miranda profile, Schallhorn quoted the Democrat criticising his own party on cost of living and taxes.

She also wrote that Min’s campaign declined comment.

Troutman said he spoke with Schallhorn months earlier. He said the conversation did not lead to coverage.

Troutman Cites Reach and Billing Rates

Troutman compared his campaign’s online audience with his opponents’ audience.

He said AmericaDeservesToWin.com has more than 100,000 subscribers.

He said @TroutmanForAmerica has more than 40,000 followers and millions of views.

Troutman also criticised a Reuters story about attorney hourly rates.

He said the story missed his firm’s higher billing rates.

Troutman said his rate exceeded $4,000 an hour last year. He claimed a 2026 “compliance rate” above $6,000 an hour.

When asked about litigation, Troutman stayed noncommittal.

“There are very clear laws on this sort of thing so they’re playing with fire,” Troutman said.

“But I’m a nice guy first and I’m trying to stay a nice guy for right now,” he said.

The release listed the media contact as winners@troutmanforamerica.com.

After the Access Newswire release, World City Press editor Eric Stevenson emailed Orange County Register reporter Kaitlyn Schallhorn seeking comment on CA-47 coverage criteria and whether she plans a Troutman interview.

Schallhorn did not reply by publication time. (waited 33 hours)

Troutman framed the dispute as mainstream media fear, saying outlets are scared of an independent candidate winning.
