According to the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, Senator Jim Demint from South Carolina, when speaking to the Greater Freedom Rally at a church in Spartanburg, South Carolina, said: “If someone is openly homosexual, they shouldn’t be teaching in the classroom and he holds the same position on an unmarried woman who’s sleeping with her boyfriend-she shouldn’t be in the classroom.”
Jim Demint claims he wants smaller government, but he also believes that the government should be able to intervene on social-economic issues, and deny gays and unmarried women the right to teach school based on their sexual orientation. Oh yea, I nearly forgot, Demint doesn’t believe in the separation of church and state. “They don’t want government purging their rights and their freedom to religion.”
Now that’s some twisted double talk that says to me that government shouldn’t deny Mister Demint from persecuting who he merry well wants to persecute, since Jesus Christ has given him the right and the moral authority to come down on the heads of sinners, such as gays or unmarried women. I thank God that our forefathers did think to separate church and state, to insulate us from lunatics like Jim Demint.
Another comment Demint made reinforces this crazy Tea Party notion that their fundamental Christian beliefs must inform their political beliefs and even actions. “Hopefully in 2012, we’ll make headway to repeal some of the things we’ve done, because politics only works when we’re realigned with our Savior.”
Once again, you get an F in American Civics, Jim! You need to cast aside your religious fervor when entering the legislative chamber. This is how the Constitution was set up. And equal opportunity in the workplace is another one of our basic American principles. Discrimination based on sexual preference is a no no. That’s how the Nazis did things, Jim. And what about men, Jim? Why don’t they have to be married also to teach school? Little sexist, Senator?
Jim Demint is all for tax-cuts for the wealthiest Americans, who he believes let the middle class exist, by a magical ‘trickle down’ of their wealth. Boy, that’s sure swell of you, you FatCats who are out wasting the entire day playing a round of golf, while the rest of us poor bastards are sweating our lives away at minimum wage jobs, for which you wouldn’t mind cutting further, making us even poorer!
45 million Americans are without health care, and Demint calls the new health care reforms, Barack Obama’s “Waterloo,” even though Obama made it a bill. That’s victory, not defeat, Jim. His big sounding board is reducing the federal deficit, and this is a big cause of his acolyte Rand Paul. But Rand doesn’t want the wealthy to have to pay their fair share of the national debt.
“I think first of all you look at whose money it is. It’s the people’s money who earned the money, and we give up some to pay taxes. So I’m not seeing it as a cost to government.” So therefore, Rand Paul is saying it’s the responsibility of the middle class and the lower class to reduce the federal deficit, not the rich. Pure elitism, Rand!
Jim Demint is like a lemon twist of a southern gentleman from Gone With the Wind, before the Civil War (1860) and The Emancipation Proclamation ended the heinous institution of Slavery once and for all. But now, in a modern setting, the slaves are gays and unmarried women, who he doesn’t mind extracting from the workforce as teachers in our classrooms. He claims to be all for small government, yet is okay with persecution of women and gays, with a twisted take on his savior Jesus Christ!
