Establishment GOP Hatred For Donald Trump Could Ruin the Party

The Republican Party establishment clearly doesn’t like Donald Trump. He isn’t one of them and they can’t control him. Some of those at the top of the GOP think they have the power to stop him. At least that is what Christopher Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax said the GOP power brokers are trying to do, when he spoke on the MSNBC show “Morning Joe” on Friday.

Given what has happened recently, the GOP big boys maybe overestimating their own power.

First of all they rolled out their 2012 presidential failure, Mitt Romney, who took the opportunity to trash Donald Trump at Hinckley Institute. First Romney prefaced his remarks by saying he is convinced “that America is poised to lead the world for another century.” That isn’t very likely, considering that both Bush and Obama trashed the power and reputation of the US. Romney must be living on another planet.

Then he went on to trash Trump’s Business ability. .” .. his bankruptcies have crushed small businesses and the men and women who work for them. He inherited his business, he didn’t create it. And whatever happened to Trump Airlines? How about Trump University? And then there’s Trump Magazine and Trump Vodka and Trump Steaks and Trump Mortgage. A business genius he is not.”

That was the establishment’s latest failure. Donald Trump’s numbers increased after that because Americans can recognize an establishment snow job when they see it.

Next up are GOP political operative Karl Rove and GOP height, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. It remains to be seen what they can do, but we have already seen their high cost television smear campaigns fail.

rubio, trump and cruz at CNN debate.
GOP establishment candidate attacks Trump and gets trumped.

These are the same people who created new rules to stop Libertarian Ron Paul from having any chance at the nomination in the 2012 Republican campaign. Their ‘Rule 40‘ dirty trick did stop Ron Paul, because it says that eight or more primary wins are needed to be considered for the nomination.

The squeaky wheels making the most noise about Trump’s candidacy are known to real conservatives as RINO‘s or ‘Republicans in Name Only.’ Conservative voters are not happy.

Real conservatives don’t like the RINOs or the neocons, because they have done many things that are not conservative, and that, in many cases, have hurt conservative Americans. On the other side of politics, Obama, who was elected with such promise, has in no way lived up to the hype.

So now, in this election season, millions of American voters have a new war cry, and it is “Throw the bums out.”

The GOP Establishment has worn out its welcome, and so has the Democrat establishment. They both say one thing and do another.

In recent memory, there has not been such an uprising of voters of both political parties.

On the conservative side, there is business mogul Donald Trump who is definitely not part of the establishment, never having served a single day in government service. On the left side, there is Bernie Sanders, the 74-year-old socialist, challenging the very definition of establishment candidates, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

CEO Christopher Ruddy thinks the establishment forces trying to stop Trump is “delusional.” If the ‘RINO’s’ try to deny Trump the nomination on the first ballot, there is likely to be an instant revolution. It has been said that millions of Trump voters could either not vote at all or they may deliver a death-blow to the GOP and vote for Hillary. No matter what happens, it doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the Republican Party’s future.

Already, Trump has disposed of the establishment’s favorite son, Marco Rubio, who was trounced in his home state, and has now pulled out of the race. On their own, neither Ted Cruz nor John Kasich have much of a chance. The only way Cruz could have a shot is if Kasich were to withdraw and endorse Cruz.

There is almost no way either of them can beat trump now. Ohio Governor John Kasich has virtually no chance of getting a substantial number of votes other than the ones he already has from his home state. Ted Cruz has almost no chance, because he would need to take 87 percent of the remaining delegates, and he isn’t that well-known in the remaining states.

The Republican “establishment” may not want Donald Trump, because he is not their boy and cannot be controlled by them, but if Trump gets close to the needed number of delegates and they pull dirty tricks to stop him, the end result is likely to be disaster for the GOP.

It really is time for the GOP establishment to face reality and get behind the inevitable nominee 100% or face the coronation of a democrat without a fight.

Trump supporters have a statement and a question for the GOP establishment: You had your chance with John McCain and Mitt Romney. How’s that working for you?
