Were Hillary’s Emails Read by Vladimir Putin?

The dreaded sound of the “Email-gate scandal” burst onto our TV screens again on Sunday. Senator Ron Johnson, the Wisconsin Republican was speaking on “Face the Nation,” on CBS about Hillary’s Emails.

It really is the scandal that keeps on giving, a new twist to an old story that many thought could not get worse. But it has.

The Senator was talking about the recent inspector general report on Hillary Clinton’s use of her private email server. Johnson, the soft-spoken senator, said her actions relating to the email server were “reckless and dangerous.”

We have previously heard that Guccifer, the Romanian Hacker, broke through the weak security of Hillary Clinton’s server. There was also earlier speculation about hacking by foreign governments or entities.

Senator Johnson said it is possible that private email server could have played a role in Russia’s invasion of eastern Ukraine. Johnson said, “Did it affect [The Kremlin’s] actions as it’s related to, for example, Vladimir Putin’s invasion of eastern Ukraine? What about the negotiations with Iran. Assad?”

When a Senate Committee chair makes accusations like this, they are taken very seriously, because of that position and access to top-secret American foreign policy documents.

He called her behavior “dereliction of power and contempt as a public servant to the American people.” John Dickerson, the CBS moderator looked stunned as Johnson added “How reckless and dangerous her email server was. You have to assume that our enemy and adversaries had to have had access to every email.”

Hillary Clinton’s investigation near the end.

Hillary Clinton is trying to pretend all of this is no big deal, and her supporters are likely giving her a free pass. They need to think about the big picture about what it really means if all those who think they are the elite decide to follow their own rules.

The FBI investigation with 147 agents was bad enough, but over the past week, the legal and political heat on Hillary Clinton has escalated. The Inspector General report showed that not only did she not comply with the State Department’s record-keeping policies, she didn’t even ask permission.

As noted in “Hillary Investigation Near End: FBI Interviews Left,” FBI director James Comey said he wants to wrap up the investigation well before the general election. The DNC must be hoping it is before the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this July.

Speaking to lawmakers in March, Comey said “What I can assure you is that I am very close personally to that investigation to ensure that we have the resources we need, including people and technology, and that it’s done the way the FBI tries to do all of its work: independently, competently and promptly.”

Things do not look good for Hillary Clinton, her staff, or the DNC. This may be part of the reason Bernie Sanders is not dropping out of the race, but the DNC may have other ideas.
