Chaos in Clinton Campaign: FBI Reviews Criminal Allegations Against Hillary

Pearl Harbor is how the Hillary campaign would describe Friday at their headquarters in Washington. No one in the Clinton camp apparently knew the FBI would drop the startling news that they were reopening the criminal investigation with newly discovered evidence. Comey’s letter brought chaos to the Clinton campaign.

To help stop the rabid rumors flying all over the country, a stern Hillary Clinton called on the FBI to release more information about newly uncovered emails connected to the investigation into her private server, addressing the issue for the first time at a press conference. It’s probably the last thing she wants, but it was the only way she could play it.

Hillary said, “We are 11 days out from perhaps the most important national election of our lifetimes,” at a press conference in Des Moines, Iowa. “Voting is already underway in our country, so the American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately.”

If you believe that statement, you’re already in the tank for Hillary Clinton no matter what comes out. Clinton took just three questions during the press conference, which lasted about four minutes. That has to be a new record for what was called a “press conference.” It was more like get in, get out and say no more.

She revealed that the FBI had not contacted her before or since Comey sent a letter to lawmakers Friday afternoon. I guess she had come to think those investigating her would call her for her opinion, and maybe they had in the past.

“So we don’t know the facts, which is why we are calling on the FBI to release all the information that it has,” she said. That is called playing with fire with a handful of losing cards, no matter what she says.

The scuttlebutt in New York and Washington is the new evidence is linked with the former Congressman Michael Wiener “sexting case” under investigation by the FBI. The rumor is that Weiner’s wife, a close confidante of Hillary Clinton used her husband’s phone as a safe way to talk without threat of being revealed. Wrong! The FBI was monitoring the line involving Anthony Weiner’s case.

Naturally, Republicans and the GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump quickly pounced on the news. House Speaker Paul Ryan said, among other things, that Clinton should not be allowed to attend national security briefings.

What this could all mean is down the line, if Hillary wins the presidency, she could face criminal charges, indictment and conviction as president. It would be the first time in American history, a sitting president would face this ordeal, not to mention the entire nation.

To add to Hillary’s public humiliation, The New York Times asked her about a report that said the FBI had found the new emails in its separate investigation into Anthony Weiner’s sexting scandal. She replied, “We’ve heard these rumors, we don’t know what to believe. And I’m sure there will be even more rumors. That’s why it’s incumbent on the FBI to tell us what they’re talking about, Jeff. Your guess is as good as mine and I don’t think that’s good enough.”

The lights are burning long into the night at Hillary Central.

Trump was quick to seize the moment. Speaking to a rally in New Hampshire, he hoped the FBI would revisit its decision to not call for charges against Clinton. “Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale that we have never seen before,” he said. “We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office. I have great respect for the fact that the FBI and the Department of Justice are now willing to have the courage to right the horrible mistake that they made. This was a grave miscarriage of justice that the American people fully understood, and it is everybody’s hope that it is about to be corrected.”

Running with their tails between their legs, Sen. Dianne Feinsten (Calif.) and DNC interim chairwoman Donna Brazile, have even lashed out at Comey for not being forthcoming in the letter and throwing the presidential race into confusion. This is of course the man who, until Friday, was the darling of the DNC.
