The war is on between President Trump and his new arch-nemesis, Rep. Adam Schiff. On Saturday, Trump tweeted that the Democratic counter-memo concludes only that “all of the terrible things that were done.”
Adam Schiff Counter-Twitt
Naturally, that tweet induced Schiff’s counter-twitt. But Trump went further. He made a surprise appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” on Saturday evening. He raked Schiff and labeled him a “bad guy” for leaving meetings and calling reporters with stories.
Whether you are for or against Schiff’s behavior towards Trump that is precisely what he has been doing. Trump told Judge Jeanine, “You are not supposed to do that. It’s probably illegal to do it.”
Schiff The Leaker
Schiff has indeed been leaking details from supposedly private meetings. But Trump told Pirro that the memo only serves to bolster his case against the Democrats.
The president said, “It was nothing but a confirmation. A lot of bad things happened on the other side, not on this side.”
Politicized FBI, DOJ
The president went on to blame the FBI and DOJ’s handling of the situation. As he put it, they were “really fraudulent and somebody should be looking into that.” Republican Rep. Devin Nunes called his part in bringing the original memo to the public’s attention something he “greatly honored.”
It appears that Schiff is more interested in simply resisting than resisting with any substance. He continues to scream about Russian influence with the Republicans and Trump, yet there is no hard evidence of any wrongdoing in 18 months of intense investigation.
Is it time to gag politicians like Schiff who have clearly made this riff personal?
Partisan Opposition Research Used By FBI
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders believes so. The questions raised by the GOP memo cover the use of partisan opposition research from one candidate as the basis for asking a federal court to approve surveillance of a former associate of a rival candidate.
Is that not a fact now? Is it not in black and white for all to see? Will any political spin change the words on the memo? Sanders rightfully points out that the memo is “politically driven.”
Endless Partisan Probes
Are the American people fed up with this endless probe by Adam Schiff? Have they come to the realization that it may all be a political vendetta against Donald Trump who miraculously beat their candidate for president?
Has the time come to move on to the country’s business? Apparently not for Adam Schiff and loony Democrats.
