Teresa Younkers, Soldiers’ Angel, Honors Her Father, a Desert Storm Vet.

.” .My dad is a Desert Storm Vet. I do this for him…”

Teresa Younkers, Florida State Veterans’ Affairs Community Team Leader and North East region team leader

A Soldiers’ Angel since December 2006, Teresa oversees the fifteen states in the north east region. Although it is hard to keep track of exactly how many Angels are on her teams, she estimates there are 4,000 Angels in her home state, Florida.

The Soldiers’ Angels VA team helps with “stand-downs.” In a “stand down,” all available resources are gathered in one place for veterans, and Soldiers’ Angels gives out backpacks. The veterans are guided through the process of accessing the services they have earned.

The VA teams visit veterans in hospitals, and host bbq’s. Teresa says .” ..we have a blast, lots of fun….”

Oh, and yes! They always need donations for their “Veterans’ backpacks.” To donate, send email to sa.veteran@gmail.com

Talking With Heroes radio show host Bob Calvert interviewed Teresa about her work in Soldiers’ Angels, when Teresa attended the Soldiers’ Angels Executive Leadership Conference, in Pasadena, California.
