US Says No Excuse for Inaction in Iraq
As the political and security crisis continues to batter Iraq, and there seems no end to the violence, speculation has been raised, questioning whether the United States is turning a deaf ear on Iraq’s crisis.
In an interview with Margaret Brennan of CBS, US Secretary of State John Kerry underlined that the US government has no intention of taking no action in Iraq.
In fact, Secretary Kerry explained that neither he nor the 300 American advisors would be in Iraq if they were looking for inaction.
Secretary Kerry said President Obama reserves the right to use force, as he does anywhere in the world, if it is necessary, but they don’t see military action as the solution at this time.
Secretary Kerry underlined that there must be a government in place that can actually follow through and guarantee that what the United States is working towards can actually be achieved.
In addition, Secretary Kerry explained that if President Obama were to just make some decision to strike here or there, if there’s no backup, there’s no “there” in the Iraqi Government, it could be completely wasted.

So what Iraq needs this time is a united government and leadership that can unify Iraq, reconstitute the military and help them to be able to push back.
United Government Is Needed to End the Turmoil In Iraq
When asked about possible solutions to end the political strife in Iraq, Secretary Kerry pointed out that a new Iraqi government must resolve the crisis by the actions of the Iraqis themselves.
The Iraqis must form a new government to tackle the country’s political and security crisis.
Secretary Kerry reiterated President Obama’s statement that emphasized a united Iraq is a stronger Iraq and and that unity is needed to deal with the internal political crisis.
ISIS Insurgents Sow Terror in Iraq
The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham group, ISIS, carried out a savage massacre in four villages in Iraq, killing 40 people.
According to reports, more than 1,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed since the start of violence earlier this month in Iraq.
The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) attacked villages and fired on fleeing civilians. The militants were armed with machine guns and waving the black flag of ISIS.
In addition, the ISIS militants continue to bring terror in the northern province of Tikrit and the Sunni village of Al Alam earlier this month as well.
The rebel fighters belong to the jihadist Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham.
The recent terroristic moves are not something new for ISIS – the group is known for its insurgency operations in Nineveh and other provinces.
Mosul is the second city to be seized by ISIS militants this year. The Iraqi government lost control of Fallujah earlier this year.
With the raging aggression in Mosul, the International Organization for Migration estimates that the number of people displaced by violence in Mosul and surrounding areas of Ninewa governorate in recent days may have reached 500,000.
