Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that The Expendables 2 will be PG-13 instead of rated R like the 2010 original, which grossed $274 million dollars worldwide, Sly’s biggest blockbuster since Rocky IV.
According to reports, Chuck Norris requested that he would do the sequel on two conditions: there would be no foul language, and that The Expendables 2 would have a PG-13 rating, which isn’t sitting well with movie fans at the moment. Still, Stallone told the media that though the film will attempt to attract a younger demographic, he stated that The Expendables 2 “is large in every way and delivers on every level”, which includes his onscreen fight against Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Back in action with Stallone are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Joined by Norris and Hunger Games‘ Liam Hemsworth, they take on Van Damme’s Jean Vilain and his own mercenary team.
The Expendables 2 is ready to lock and load on August 17.
