Jessica Robinson, an Alameda native who has competed as Miss Alameda in past Miss California USA pageants has been invited to participate in the “Real Crown Champion: Ms. & Mrs. Orange County Regional Pageant.”
This pageant raises funds for the Susan G Komen for the Cure foundation, a global leader in the fight against breast cancer, and the pageant winner may be asked to champion the breast cancer awareness program.
Accepting the invitation, Robinson said, “It has been an honor to participate in the Miss California USA pageant these past two years, and it has been a blessing to represent the City of Alameda in such a prestigious pageant. The experience has allowed me to grow in character and integrity, which I will carry with me for the rest of my life.” Robinson was awarded a trophy in 2009 for having the most sponsors and an award in 2010 for being the “Most Inspirational” in the Miss California USA pageant.
“I promise to keep giving back to the community,” she continued, “and to work with local businesses and my sponsors. My programs will continue, such as Miss Alameda Says Compost, MASC, which is expanding. And I will continue to support the youth and the schools with the Green School’s Challenge Program. Representing Alameda has brought meaning and direction in my life that coincide with my dreams and goals of being active in helping people and the environment, as well as making a real difference in people’s lives.”
Robinson anticipates that her short film, “Recycle Woman” will be ready for release by June. The movie is a gift to the community, schools, and local businesses to encourage composting and recycling. “As Miss Alameda,” Robinson stated, “I will continue to champion environmental issues and present solutions for creating a cleaner and sustainable environment for the present and future generations.
The Real Crown Champion Orange County pageant will be held August 6th, 2011 at the Huntington Beach Historic Auditorium in Huntington Beach, California.
