Do you sometimes feel the media is not portraying your personal views on illegal immigrants?
You’re not alone by any means.
Contrary to what you may hear from the mainstream media, a majority of Americans would rather deport illegal immigrants rather than granting them legal status a new poll indicates.
Democratic strategists feeling such illegal immigration made legal would be a huge boost to the Democratic Party.
Pulse Opinion Research discovered in their survey that most Americans believe it is the liberal politicians themselves that advocate a green light to illegals. As stated above, that is known as “pandering” to Hispanic voters.
That is considered grossly irresponsible and un-American by many taking the survey.
The poll was divided fairly between Republicans, Democrats, and people of other political beliefs, namely known as independents. Fifty-two percent want illegal immigrants deported while a mere 33 percent would like to see them gain legal status.
Hardly the environment you find in the mainstream media, aka New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, ABC and CNN for some examples.
Those opposing legal status advocated very strong language in their opinions that is defined as 73 percent stating they are “very strongly” about that view. Only 35 percent of those who prefer legal status “feel strongly” about that.
Sixty-nine percent of those responding to the poll agreed with the statement: “Giving legal status to illegal immigrants does not solve the problem because rewarding law breaking will only encourage more illegal immigration.”
Barely a quarter of the respondents disagreed.
There were other interesting results that included:
Seventy percent of respondents did not feel felt immigration laws would be enforced after legalization.
Fifty-three percent of respondents were more likely to vote for a political party that supports enforcing immigration laws. That compares to 32 percent who say they would support a party that backs legalizing illegals.
It can be reasonably assumed that only Fox News will report these findings to the American people via their massive viewing audience.
Over sixty percent of respondents believe that politicians advocating legalized illegal immigrants are strongly pandering to Hispanics to get their future votes. Only 25 percent think they are “generally concerned” about illegal immigrants.
Just twenty-three percent of respondents feel the country needs more immigrants to fill low-wage jobs. Many politicians have been hammering home the false belief that most Americans are not interested in such jobs.
Over 67 percent in the survey respondents strongly feel Americans can and will perform those jobs if they are properly compensated by employers.
This sure is not what Americans as a country have been hearing over the airwaves and in print.
