Fox News Welcomes George Will to Their ‘Dream Team’ Lineup

The major news networks must be beginning to tear their hair out.

To no one’s surprise, Washington Post columnist and conservative commentator George Will soon depart his longtime gig as a host commentator at ABC News and joining Fox News, a more politically comfortable network, it was announced Tuesday.

Will’s stint with ABC began in the early 1980’s and was compounded starting in 1981 with his appearances regularly on Sunday morning’s “This Week.” The Daily Caller noted Will has been noticeably AWOL from his weekly appearances on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

At Fox, Will’s responsibilities will include analysis and commentary. The Pulitzer Prize winner will appear on “Special Report with Bret Baier” and “Fox News Sunday,” according to the network.

Wills’ departure from ABC is a major coup for Fox, which has risen to the top of the news cable ratings and outdone the three major networks in their audiences for the nightly news. Michael Clemente, the network’e senior vice-president for news, said in a statement “We are delighted to have someone of George’s stature jois senior vicn Fox News, his wisdom is enduring and his achievements are far too long to list.”

“Special Report with Bret Baier” will now host a power lineup of commentators including Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer.

Will is the author of many books including,”Statecraft as Soulcraf t: What Government Does,” “The New Season: A Spectator’s Guide to the 1988 Election” and “Restoration: Congress, Term Limits,” ” The Recovery of Deliberative Democracy,” and the best-selling book on baseball titled “Men at Work.”
