Crossfire War – India Has Arrested 70 Terrorist Cells in Past 14 Months

Crossfire War – TEHRAN WATCH – South Asia Theatre: Tehran – Islamabad – Dhaka/Delhi; India Has Arrested 70 Modules – Terrorist Cells of Lashkar-e-Taiba – Vanguard of Tehran’s Islamic International Front

Night Watch: DELHI – Indian counter intelligence agencies have, in the past 14 months, arrested more than 70 terrorist modules, cells, of the Islamic militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET). They have long been based in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and changed their name four years ago when they were officially outlawed by Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf. Unofficially, under their new name, Jamaat-ul-Dawa (JUD), they pose as a charity organization. According to Pakistan media they receive funds from abroad, most likely from Tehran-Riyadh and not for charitable purposes. [WEBINDIA]

Based on these arrests the only thing that has changed is the scale of LET’s reach. Islamic terrorist’s organizations in South Asia are no longer concentrating just on invading India through Jammu-Kashmir but have operational units throughout the entire country and can now infiltrate through Nepal and Bangladesh. Delhi has discovered LET is the vanguard of al-Qaeda’s (Tehran’s) network the Islamic International Front (IIF) and they have recruited members not only from Pakistan, but also from India’s enormous Islamic community and Bangladesh. Other active branches of the IIF are: Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HUM), its new wing-Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JEM) and Laskar-e-Jhangvi (LEJ).

These are the organizations, principally the LET, that Delhi suspects carried out the Mumbai commuter train bombings last July 11 and have plans to disrupt the Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday August 15th. Even if the plans are disrupted the potential for these organizations operating inside India could cause serious problems for India’s security agencies during the next war with Pakistan, which is definitely no longer just between Pakistan and India. Reuters reports Delhi has increased security at its more sensitive sites like its Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) nuclear plant near Mumbai.
