Militants stormed the facility in the capital of Mogadishu and launched a killing rampage using automatic rifles, heavy machine guns and explosives in an attack. The deadly attack lasted for three hours.

Nine militants were also killed in the attack. Two of the militants were blown up in the car suicide attack and seven were shot by Somali security forces.
