“ANWR” Limited Oil Production
Obama has pushed his preferences too far. He plans to close the Arctic Region for reduced oil and gas refining.
This includes closing the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge – U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, “ANWR,” in the northern part of Alaska just above the Arctic Circle.
Obama will propose blocking 1.4 million acres of Arctic refuge from oil and gas drilling, reported by the Washington Post on 1/25.
The Post says this administration plans to designate ANWR with the highest level of protection banning oil and gas drilling.
This move highly angers Republicans, who have fought 35 years over management of “ANWR.” This vast region was found to have huge petroleum reserves. It also provides a necessary environment for caribou, migrating birds, polar bears and many other wildlife.

“What’s coming is a stunning attack on our sovereignty and our ability to develop a strong economy that allows us, our children and our grandchildren to thrive, … I cannot understand why this administration is willing to negotiate with Iran, but not Alaska.” All this from the Energy and Natural Resources Committee chairman, Lisa Murkowski, R/AK responding to the Post.
Wisconsin Governor Walker even spoke of how 40 billion barrels of Alaska’s untapped reserves are already in federal areas where oil and gas activity is blocked or restricted.
Closing the Arctic is in a series of decisions to be made shortly about Alaska’s oil and gas production. Obama also plans to block parts of the Arctic Ocean from drilling.
In January of 2013, Obama actually came up with a plan for increased oil and gas production, but it has been rescinded.
What Is A Thermokarst Lake?
Already, the plan expands the protected area around Teshekpuk Lake | Alaska, always recharged with water from surrounding area melting permafrost. It is a “thermokarst” lake, the largest of its kind in the world. [Thermokarst – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia]
“ANWR” contains important habitats for caribou, migrating birds, polar bears and much other wildlife. It seems environmental groups fail to admit all these groups typically flourish around any oil procurement facility.
But it was cautioned all projects take at least 7-10 years for completion. Obama will purposely hold-up any additional oil and gas drilling under the faulty purpose of reducing CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.
Does anyone remember the old “Beverly Hillbillies” TV show where Jed shoots a rifle shot into the ground and up comes “a bubblin’ crude”? That’s oil coming from the ground. Always has been there for eons. Earth is producing more at this second. When combusted, its by-product will be CO2, which will eventually convert back to making oil, after the decay of plants and animals.
Because earth is a closed-system, no CO2 is added, subtracted, or ejected out into space. It is a stable compound, and gets cycled continuously.
Lima Climate Conference
Any attempt to limit CO2 capacity is fruitless. Yet Obama continues to ‘regulate’ what can’t be regulated. He’s forcing the U.S. to pay over $30 billion to the Lima (Peru) climate conference for CO2 reduction with money that does not exist.
Bottom Line
Let’s clarify first.
- Obama thinks he’s God, and can control CO2 produced by the earth
- Obama believes he can pull money from thin air when America is already $18 trillion in debt
- Obama wants to spend more money (which does not exist), to eliminate excess CO2 (which can’t be done), and control ‘AGW’ which never existed in the first place.
Obama Total Control
Because he currently holds the ‘purse strings,’ Obama controls NASA, NOAA, CDC, FDA, NIH (National Institute of Health), NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Services), COP (Coastal Ocean Program), NWS (National Weather Service), NODC (National Oceanographic Data Center), Office Of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, etc., etc… These are just a few of the organizations with their salaries controlled by Obama.
All told, eight pages of ~40 major organizations are directly under Obama’s ‘bailiwick.’ The list tops 4.3 million total federal workers.
Considering one’s employer, how many in that group are remaining steadfast to whatever Obama says, or actually telling the truth about ‘AGW.’
God already knows how many actually voted this guy in office.
