Young Man Believes Music Can Heal The World

Brilliant minds throughout the universe are all around us. Today more than ever, young minds are embracing the technology age in Silicon Valley in various technical fields.

There are, however, those who are less fortunate, perhaps because of a broken family experience, or the lack of education that may have given them a bad break in life.

Then there are those individuals who have compassion to help those people through their own profession, whether it be music, finance, real estate, or any other business.

Dave Mesirow, a young man who resides in Playa del Rey, California, believes in music healing individuals while visualizing peace and compassion in the world. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, with a major in psychology, he shares his thoughts about healing the planet. “I believe we as a society should solve the situations on global hunger and poverty as well as homelessness. I speak out about these issues whenever I get a chance, and even though horrible things happen in the world, it is best to have an optimistic and problem-solving attitude,” he states.

Mr. Mesirow studied music since he was 10. He listened to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel and Michael Jackson to name a few. With many hours of rehearsal, he wrote compelling messages. Together with his music and philosophy, he started to speak to select groups of people that he felt would want to make a change for a more peaceful and compassionate society.

“I use music as an approach for my life personally – my life isn’t perfect – so I have to bank on my strengths and do the best I can while learning from and overcoming my weaknesses. Getting down on myself is not going to do me or anyone else any good. So if I make a mistake, I either try to forget about it or use it as a learning experience, but then I move on and try to do the best I can. It’s a one-day-at-a-time attitude.”

“I think we should apply this can-do, optimistic attitude to society as well. We should be less combative with people with whom we disagree, try to bridge gaps in ideology, and try to find common ground. It may be harder than it sounds, but it is possible. Again, it’s one step at a time,” he says.

“I am in the process now of producing a song called ‘Better the World,’ which hints at what we can do together as a society, if we work together toward solving common goals. Instead of being divided by our differences, we should recognize each other’s differences and see that they may actually be strengths. We should also be looking at our similarities and what we can get done together.”
