It was a shout for and to the Lord last night at the 14th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards (ICM), which is both an honor and celebration of the biggest artists and groups in Christian and Inspirational Country Music. Awards highlights at the Trinity Music City USA Auditorium includes a heartfelt performance of “Helping Hands” from multi-platinum superstar Colin Raye, who hosted the event.
Ricky Skaggs’s list of accolades includes a Grammy and a Country Music Award. Now, the award-winning country and bluegrass artist was one of the big winners of the night with three ICM Awards: Musician of the Year, Mainstream Country Artist of the Year and Inspirational Country Artist as Ricky Skaggs and The Whites.
Legendary country icon George Strait and his “I Saw Today” single, saw being named the Mainstream Inspirational Song of the Year. Other winners of the ICM features Trinity Broadcast Network getting the honor for “Television Network”, and the football underdog Facing the Giants was chosen as “Faith, Family, & Country Movie”.
The ICM Awards was taped with a live audience aired on several broadcast networks including Comcast on Demand, Country Music Television (CMT) Loaded, Cornerstone TeleVision, and Total Christian Television (TCT) Networks — reaching over half a billion viewers and/or cable subscribers nationally, Canada, and over 170 nations throughout the world.
