Title and U.S. Premiere Date For Bond 23 Revealed

Daniel Craig renews his license to kill for the third time as James Bond in Skyfall, the long-awaited 23rd installment of Ian Fleming’s 007. Since 2006, the actor has won praise from critics and moviegoers with his portrayal of the British secret agent with similar traits of 24‘s Jack Bauer. Bond was reborn as a hero for the post-9/11 generation: shaken and stirred to seek revenge against the people responsible for murdering the woman he once loved.

Dame Judi Dench returns as M, as she and Craig will be join by two new Bond girls: English actress Naomie Harris as fellow spy Eve and French performer Berenice Marlohe as the “glamorous, enigmatic” Severine. Spanish heartthrob Javier Bardem is Bond’s arch-nemesis with British actors Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes playing potential, pivotal yet supporting roles in the movie.

American Beauty‘s Sam Mendes will be the director.

Though the plot remains top-secret, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli has reported that the objective of Skyfall is “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her”, and that the title “has some emotional resonance which will be revealed in the film.”

Skyfall is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on November 9, 2012, the 50th anniversary of Dr. No with Sean Connery, the man who preceded and introduced the world of James Bond.
