Arts Express: Sharon Stone Talk Lovelace, Parenting And Pornography

Actress Sharon Stone Talks Lovelace. Deep Throat entered the lexicon of the public imagination in 1972, as the mysterious pseudonym referring to the secret informant who tipped off Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to what would become infamously known as then President Nixon’s Watergate Democratic Party break-in scandal and disgraceful downfall.

But the term Deep Throat originated with a far different phenomenon – as the name of a 1972 porn movie starring the late Linda Lovelace, that ushered pornography into the mainstream and precipitated in its own strange way at the time, the sexual revolution.

Sharon Stone, who plays the tragic young woman’s bitter and confused mother in Lovelace, met along with the filmmakers to talk about the behind-the-scenes brutal domestic violence and sexual slavery and exploitation that defined Lovelace’s life back then.
