Photographer’s Group Network Shows Us the World in Photos

Photographer’s Group Network (PGN), is a web-based network of skilled photographers and travel writers that captures events of life through pictures and video. PGN’s photographers travel abroad in search of difference cultures for their stock photos.

I had the pleasure to sit down and ask the founder of PGN – Patrick, some questions recently for an exclusive interview. The following is that informative discussion.

Hollywood Sentinel: Who are you?

Patrick Williams: My name is Patrick Williams with Photo Group Network.

Hollywood Sentinel: What do you do?

With your company PGN, you provide photography and writing about travel. How is PGN different from other companies who may do this?

Patrick Williams:With PGN, pros and amateurs work together in their respective fields of specialty. Individual interest and skill levels are augmented through networking with others who have similar interests to provide a more diverse photo bank.

Hollywood Sentinel: When did you start doing this- photography and travel writing?

Patrick Williams:I started in 1982.

Hollywood Sentinel: Where did you learn how to do this?

Patrick Williams:I engaged in the study of photography and creative writing at California College of Arts in Oakland California.

Hollywood Sentinel: Why did you begin doing this?

Patrick Williams:The cities and people of Europe and Asia is a fascination, and I love capturing it all on camera. Also, I enjoy writing about my travels.

Hollywood Sentinel: Who are your three biggest inspirations, and why?

Patrick Williams:Gordon Parks, a master of the camera, and his works were inspiring. Also, Fredrick Douglas, a gifted and courageous humanitarian, and Martin Luther King Jr. His courage in promoting human welfare and social reform was a divine influence.

Hollywood Sentinel: How should someone start out who wants to do what you do?

Patrick Williams:Study the arts of photography and creative writing.

Hollywood Sentinel: What is your advice to someone who wants to follow their dreams, but are told they should not or can’t succeed?

Patrick Williams:Follow your dreams and ignore the opinion of others.

Hollywood Sentinel: What actors or films have most inspired you and why?

Patrick Williams:Gary Cooper was one of my favorite actors, and his movies were captivating. Kirk Douglas and Denzel Washington were also very motivational.

Hollywood Sentinel: What singers and performers have most inspired you and why?

Patrick Williams:Otis Redding, Gladys Knight, and Ray Charles. These great singers use story telling in song, were exciting, and motivating.

Hollywood Sentinel: How do you want to be remembered?

Patrick Williams:By my artistic works.
