Historic Sutter Street is the perfect setting for Folsom’s popular Christmas Arts, Crafts and Gift Fair that has been Folsom’s signature event for over forty years, attracting 10,000 to 20,000 shoppers from Northern and Central California.
This year’s event takes place Saturday, December 5, (Rain Date: Sunday, December 6) from 8am to 4pm with free admission. Park in the Historic District’s new indoor garage for $2.00 all day with all funds raised supporting the Folsom Historical Society, or ride Light Rail to the Sutter Street Station.
Taking a stroll down Historic Sutter Street … here’s a sampling of just a fraction of what you’ll find … in random order … as if you were already there … shopping and discovering the most amazing selection of arts, crafts and gifts you’ve ever seen!
With two hundred and fifty booths, there’s going to be something for everyone!!!
Some of the fabulous treasures you’ll discover include: copper and brass weather vanes and twisters; one-of-a-kind handmade purses using recycled jeans; handmade real jade jewelry; handmade photo albums, calendars and cards; melted wine bottles made into cheese trays and crafted ornaments; cell phone clips and accessories; authors selling books they have written & published; sheepskin slippers, gloves hats, and accessories; metal lawn, garden and horseshoe art; hand-blown glass; carved giraffes, monkeys, and other animals; Christmas characters and ornaments crafted from wood; and antique Depression Glass wind chimes.
Featured performers will be Matt Duddman, George Goodell and their Pleasant Valley Boys, a popular country and blue grass group, performing from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. near Old Europe Restaurant at Sutter and Decatur, and Oscar Reynolds, Bolivian master flutist, guitarist and composer, performing throughout the day in the 700 block of Sutter Street across from the Hacienda del Rio. Our younger shoppers will want to visit Lillie, Lulu and Friends, our face painter, who will be located in the 700 Block of Sutter Street all day!
