Radio Shack has said that their third quarter profit surged 23% from last year, led by sales of smartphones in its retail locations. Macy’s profits jumped by nearly 21 times from last year. They weren’t the only retailers whose profits soared. Is the recession over?
Unemployment has averaged around 9% all year. The 99 weeks of Unemployment benefits for many has run out. The stimulus along with the 99 weeks of unemployment has made it possible for retailers to sell their goods through good marketing and repricing which in turn has made it possible for employment.
With the holidays approaching it would be a great idea to take in a temporary gig at a retailer that may lead to a permanent position. Corporate retail also expands as sales do.
