Luis Guillermo Solis Wins Costa Rica Presidential Poll

New President To Lead Costa Rica In Right Direction

A former diplomat, Luis Guillermo Solis, won the recent Costa Rica presidential elections.

Mr. Guillermo won 78 percent of votes and ousted the candidate from the ruling party who quit campaigning last month.

Surprisingly, his rival, Johnny Araya, of the ruling National Liberation Party announced last month he was withdrawing from his candidacy after polls revealed that he had little chance to win.

Mr. Solis included in his platforms to fight Costa Rica’s poverty rate and eradicate the rise of graft and corruption.

Solis’ supporters celebrated the victory by marching on the street and drivers honked their horns in jubilation.
