The citizens of Brazil today celebrated their national day.
The economy of Brazil is the world’s seventh largest economy by nominal GDP. It is the eighth largest by purchasing power parity. It is also one of the world’s fastest growing major economies. Numbers of economic reforms have given the country new international recognition. Brazil is also home to a diversity of wildlife, according to Wikipedia.
US Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaking in Washington, DC, extended the congratulations of President Obama and the people of the United States, to the people of Brazil on their National Day.
Ms. Clinton reiterated that President Obama’s statement that Brazil is a shining example of the power of democracy to expand opportunity. She highlighted that United States and Brazil share a rich history of democratic values and mutual cooperation.
“Today, we are working together to promote open and accountable governance, curb the effects of global warming, and expand social inclusion.” -Ms. Clinton
She said that the cooperation between two countries extends beyond the work of their governments.
“Our people and societies are united in ways large and small. As you celebrate this special day, know that the United States is committed to strengthening this already close relationship. Congratulations and best wishes for a year of peace and prosperity.” -Ms. Clinton
Brazil is currently a political and economic leader in Latin America. Its social and economic problems prevent it from becoming an effective global power.
