Democrats in Danger of Becoming Irrelevant

The far left of the Democratic Party slides from one complaint to the next about President Trump. Like a never-ending 24/7 cycle, each day brings a new talking point for so-called journalists at their favorite formats including CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and Washington Post. Democrats have no policies and are in danger of becoming irrelevant.

The trouble that is coming down the road are actual issues the voters are interested in. The midterm elections are about our desires as a people, not a monotonous 24/7 fake complaint cycle. Reactionary politics inflame the left’s base but harm them to a larger degree with the independent voters and undeclared millions in our country.

Take for instance the reality of the Democrat’s political power in August 2018. Since 2010, their party has managed to lose the House, Senate and the presidency. That constitutes two of the three branches of power in this republic.

Since his inauguration in January 2017, President Trump has been able to appoint two conservative Supreme Court Justices. Judge Neil Gorsuch is now on the court and Brett Kavanaugh is going through the confirmation process presently. Unless something dramatic should happen, he will be confirmed before the new Supreme Court session in October.

The Supreme Court will now be conservative-leaning for at least the next 25 years. Trump more than likely has another six years to nominate more justices. In other words, Republicans/conservatives now hold the power over all three branches of government.

Trump has also made 24 circuit court appointments. That is more than any other president in the regional circuit court system since 1891. By comparison, the Senate had not confirmed President Obama’s 24th appointment until his fourth year in office.

Of the 167 spots on those courts nationwide, Trump nominees hold one in every eight slots. The majority of those being replaced were nominated by former Republican presidents. Ten more Trump nominees are presently winding their way through the confirmation process. Remember, more than likely, Trump has six more years.

While the Democrats focus on Russian collusion and ridiculous talk of impeachment, slowly and methodically they lose more political and judicial powers by the day. Now that the “Democratic Socialist” movement is taking hold through the hard left, the Democrats’ chances of retaking either House of Congress or the presidency becomes remote at best.

The leaders of the Democratic Party are in danger of becoming totally irrelevant in the running of the national government, its policies and values. Will the party take a hard look at where they are going before they disappear from the national stage altogether?

irrelevant democrat.
