An interesting thing happened on the way to “inclusive” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) voting last Wednesday. He decided President Trump has too many white people on the federal bench. Political correctness strikes again!
Schumer is the poster child of how insane the left’s political correctness has become. President Trump’s nominee a federal judgeship from South Carolina is Marvin Quattlebaum. No one questions he is highly qualified.
Schumer pointed out Quattlebaum will be replacing not one but two of Obama’s appointees. Schumer voted against him. It was abundantly clear by his comments it was because he happens to be white.
Quattlebaum is indeed a white lawyer and a partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Greenville, South Carolina. Schumer says, he (Quattlebaum) “speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary.”
His words are a total outrage to both black and white Americans. For that matter, any color. Schumer was put off that Quattlebaum’s nomination replaces two black judges from South Carolina nominated by the Obama administration to fill the position and have long been vacant.
Schumer’s idiotic reasoning? He said, “It is long past time that the judiciary starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experience on the federal bench is necessary for the equal administration of justice.”
Have Americans seen enough of this sort of political game for votes? The answer may come this November.
Could it be that Senator Schumer is sending a signal? Maybe he and the ageing white Democrat leaders are about to make a major announcement. Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein and Elizabeth Warren may be preparing to retire, to show the way forward, giving up their seats for black, hispanic, Asian or native American candidates?
Schumer could then repurpose his statement about Quattlebaum. He could say “It is long past time that Congress starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experience in the federal legislature is necessary for the equal representation of the citizens and aliens.”
