The days of the world looking to California for the ultimate lifestyle and a golden future are seriously over. The state has been taken over by far left political zealots bent on the destruction of a beautiful state that was the envy of the entire country.
Just how far left has the Democratic Party gone? The perfect indicator is last week’s party convention in San Diego. Already a one-party state literally from the governor down to the major city mayors, it is not enough for the hysterical left.
The deep end of the political abyss is their destination until the remaining voters of the state wake up to this ongoing tragedy. Until that time, if it ever comes, the future includes more taxes, more regulations, mass exodus of the middle class and a continued swarm of welfare recipients; legal and illegal.
But I digress. Let’s get back to the convention in San Diego run by “progressive” wing nuts. The first sign of their utter lunacy was the delegates’ refusal to endorse impeccably liberal Sen. Dianne Feinstein. She has been their party’s senator for four terms, but now is considered “square” from the perspective of a leadership that is left of Lenin.
The 85-year-old San Francisco native (no points given this time around) lost out by 37 percent to 54 percent to Kevin de Leon (who?), ultra-liberal president pro tempore of the state Senate, who promises mainly to be obsessively anti-Trump. That is the key; hate Trump. That makes for excessive cheering and a sure-fire platform to run on in an asylum for the politically insane.
Kevin de Leon says half of his family are illegals. He also says they have fake social security cards and fake drivers licenses. He would be a perfect Democrat Senator to replace Dianne Feinstein.
The mob wasn’t through with their business of selecting the next round of business-crushing elitists from planet Mars. The rope and torch delegates put former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa last among the party’s four candidates for governor. Poor Tony, cast adrift in favor of former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, a pretty boy professional back-slapper who came out on top at the convention. He is far more proficient at kissing the behinds of the mob mentality.
So what happened to your support Tony? Well, your sin as mayor big feller, was you supported charter schools and tried to mess with the People’s Republic of the Teacher’s Union. You know Tony, the largest obstacle to creating quality schools. The utter shame you now must feel trying to think for yourself.
But before the mob wrapped up their version of Barnum and Bailey, the masses cheered on a sharp anti-Israel turn. Why stop at California’s border? They adopted a plank to support a boycott to divest state monies and even a sanctions movement to punish the Israel Defense Forces.
I am sure that has Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tossing and turning at night. He may even wake up screaming with the image of Kevin de Leon in his nightmare describing inclusiveness and compassion.
There is a glimmer of hope for sane Californians and the rest of the nation. The state has historically been a harbinger of national trends. That could very well mean it will be the state leading the way for the utter demise of the Democratic Party and the socialists who run it.
