Crossfire War – Hamas Warns Israel as Israel Prepares to Invade Gaza Strip

Crossfire War – TEHRAN – GAZA – BEIRUT WATCH – West Asia – North – Northeast Africa Theatre: Tehran – Riyadh – Ankara – Amman – Tripoli – Khartoum – Baghdad – Ramallah – Gaza/Jerusalem – Cairo – Paris – Rome – Washington; Hamas Warns Israel About Invasion Preparations – “We are preparing a big surprise for the enemy” – Iran-Syria Prepared to Enter Conflict to Expand Regional War

Night Watch: GAZA – RIA quoted Hamas spokesman Abu Ubeida, as the organization observes Israel preparing a large scale invasion of the Gaza Strip in response to the continued Qassam rocket barrage by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, “We have people along the border reporting troop concentrations around Gaza. We believe that the enemy is preparing a massive invasion and we warn them that they will meet stiff resistance and the raids will not be a joy ride for them. We have a resistance plan and we are preparing a surprise for the enemy who will certainly suffer big losses.” Israel is not just planning another series of raids and this is a lot more than the occasional air attack responding to rocket fire, nor is this just a response to the Tuesday Qassam attack that wounded 69 Israeli soldiers. What is causing the most serious invasion preparations since last year’s war with Hezbollah in south Lebanon was the Syrian-Iranian missile base Israel recently destroyed in northern Syria. [RIA]

I suspect Jerusalem realizes if Israel does not fully engage not only Hamas but also, Hezbollah and what ever support Syria-Iran have been preparing then the damage Israel will receive from this year’s war will be many times the amount of the war last year. Israel realizes they have to attack massively to let Hamas-Islamic Jihad-Hezbollah they are about to experience martyrdom taking a lot of their community with them. It will also be a very deadly message to any Syrian-Iranian units Damascus-Tehran intend to commit and they are obliged to commit some, units also prepared for martyrdom. Hamas-Hezbollah should not forget Tehran did not train and finance them all these years to collect and store weaponry and but to use it and die doing so. Tehran’s government exists to celebrate death and not just the death of the enemy, but also the death of those fighting in the name of Jihad. What Israel may have planned is a highly coordinated offensive using artillery, ground forces, naval units and air strikes working closely with units on the ground and at sea and quite possibly round the clock. I would not be surprised if more than half of the Palestinian population is displaced, with Israel occupying a lot of the territory as they did in south Lebanon for nearly twenty years.

During the chaos, as Tehran generates sensational publicity by committing some expendable ground troops, Islamic radicalism will be inflamed many more times than even during last year’s war and no one will be more threatened than Egypt President Hosni Mubarak whose situation is even more explosive than the European units in UNIFIL. Only American-British forces will be at a greater risk than Mubarak as they attempt to leave Iraq with their bases under Iran’s Shahab missile attacks and from Tehran’s new guided bombs. Hosni Mubarak will not attempt to leave for exile, as did King Farouk in 1952. Though Mubarak could be assassinated, as was his predecessor Anwar al-Sadat in 1981 by Islamic radicals, some of Egypt’s military is still loyal to him and those will be the units sent into action against Iranian units in the immediate area, Lebanon-West Bank, as Mubarak declares war. However, governments that support the Jihad, Tripoli-Khartoum-Riyadh surround Mubarak. Jerusalem may be able to work with some of the Egyptian forces but in Cairo there will be a massive revolt, and civil war in the country. When Mubarak declares war, Islamic governments will concentrate on removing him instead of the war effort against Israel.

And this is what Tehran has intended to achieve all along concerning the West Asia Theatre, removal of Islamic heads of state that still have military relations with the West. The three month fighting that began on May 20 caused by Tehran, using the suicide unit Fatah al-Islam at the Palestinian refugee camp city Nahr al-Bared in northern Lebanon outside Tripoli and near Syria’s border, has convinced Prime Minister Fouad Siniora to no longer work with Paris and the West. Mubarak is the last one. Israel will be there when the smoke clears.
