Since when do Presidential hopefuls pander to non-Americans who are in the country illegally? It seems the answer to that is – when they are Democrats and they need some illegal votes, illegal money, illegal voices or overseas support to win.
According to a number of polls now, people do not trust Hillary Rodham Clinton. If she is the Democrat nominee, that lack of trust must be a crippling liability in the general election.
When politicians backpedal, flip-flop, or put an unbelieveable spin on something, that is a sure-fire way to turn off voters – other than those who are rusted on to their candidate. The latest example of Hillary’s back-pedaling spin is on an issue that she has flip-flopped multiple times on – Obamacare.
Clearly, Obamacare isn’t working well. If it was, it wouldn’t still be an issue. But before there was Obamacare, there was Hillarycare.
Back in 1993, Bill Clinton was president and Hillary was working on healthcare. She introduced the government-sponsored healthcare initiative that became known as “HillaryCare.” It was a disaster.
Now as a presidential candidate, she wants to “partially expand” public access to the Affordable Care Act.
What does that mean?
Does she want to help American kids? No. American families? No. Seniors? No.
Hispanic Votes Needed
Hillary’s latest government-subsidized healthcare idea helps none of those groups – it is specifically for undocumented immigrants.
You might understand that kind of move if it came from the socialist candidate, Bernie Sanders. But this is Hillary, the mainstream Democrat, concocting a new socialized medicine expansion for illegals.
Having toned-down his ideas a little during this primary season, Bernie made tremendous inroads into the voter base that Hillary thought she could count on. Now she needs to beat Bernie at his own game and come up with some of her own wild ideas.
While speaking at a town hall meeting televised by CNN, she said “There are two steps here, if someone can afford to pay for an insurance policy off the exchanges that were set up under the Affordable Care Act, I support that.”
Sounds obvious.
Then she came out with the punchline. “If they can afford it, they should be able to go into the marketplace and buy it.”
What she didn’t address was the idea that someone who was in the country illegally, evading authorities, illegally using our resources, could ever have a right to use the taxpayer-funded healthcare system.
The healthcare system isn’t doing well, and it is already massively subsidized by deficit-spent dollars. Opening up the healthcare system to millions of illegals would break the federally subsidized system even more. This federal government is already operating on a massive IOU to future generations, and Hillary wants to further empty the wallets of American taxpayers and add more debt for their children and grandchildren. And for what? To fund healthcare for illegal and poverty-stricken aliens.
To show just how wild her ideas are now, she said, ” … it is not going to apply to people who are in need of subsidies in order to afford that.”
OK, so that means it is for well-off illegals?
Reports show that 80 percent of Americans using Obamacare receive government subsidies to help pay for their coverage, because they don’t earn enough to pay for it on their own.
One thing that thankfully made it into the was the fact that “undocumented immigrants” are “prohibited” from using the Obamacare marketplaces.
But don’t worry, Hillary has a crazy plan to get around that!
She said subsidies for illegals will ” … have to be worked out in comprehensive immigration reform.”
Nice, another massive law with twists and turns that Congress will pass before learning what is in it. What will be in it is another massive giveaway.
Hillary continues to pander to the Hispanic vote, at the risk of making everyone’s life worse. She takes it one step further, to grant citizenship to millions of aliens illegally on American soil, so they can qualify for government subsidies. What she should be doing is to support and enforce the existing immigration laws, and deport those people.
