Reggae stars often rise from the ghettos of Jamaica, Some, such as Albert “Apple Gabriel” Craig earn success and international fame. Few endure the struggle from success back into poverty, through health problems.
As an original member of the globally renowned harmony trio Israel Vibration, Apple has recently fallen on hard times, recently becoming homeless. He also now suffers from seizures due to living in a mold infested apartment for 4 years.
According to the Reggae Festival E-Guide, “Apple was the original creator of their ‘anthemic’ songs and the original creator of the ‘bionic’ roots harmonies that is the signature sound of the Group, and he also wrote a seemingly infinite number of great songs, such as Lift Up Your Conscience, We A De Rasta, Why You So Craven, Oh Jan Solid Rock, Middle East, There is No End, Falling Angels, Mud Up and Rude Boy Shuffling, Friday Evening, Walk The Streets of Glory and much, much more.”
The E-Guide says Apple now needs your help and support. To that end, they are accepting donations to assist this Rasta Brother to get back on his feet. “There is so much more that Apple has in store for us musically. Let’s show him how much we appreciate his contribution to us by giving back to him.”
