Investing Goes Green On Earth Day

Tired of hearing about greedy banks hurting customers, energy companies that pollute your atmosphere, your water supply, your food? Do you invest in those companies? You don’t have to support the polluters and the grinches. There is another way to invest.

Sustainvest Asset Management, LLC, a new, greener, independent investment advisory firm, just started in beautiful Petaluma, California.

Sustainvest Asset Management focuses on sustainable and responsible investing, also known as SRI. Sustainvest handles investment management for individuals, foundations and non-profit organizations who are searching for an investment advisor who uses the 3 pillars of SRI. The three pillars include environmental, social and governance screening, shareholder advocacy or activism, and community or impact investing.

“Consumers, especially in the bay area, are seriously integrating sustainability and eco-conscious decisions in their everyday lives. They can be doing the same with their investment portfolio by working with an advisor who focuses on integrating both financial analysis and sustainability into asset management.” – Dale Wannen, President and Founder of Sustainvest Asset Management.

Sustainvest is an independent fee-only investment advisory firm, so it has the liberty of not being held down by selling proprietary products, as many of the big brokers do.

“It’s all about being transparent,” Wannen says.

Wannen tells clients that current data shows corporations that address environmental footprint, human rights, and board or executive diversity, and related issues, are becoming leaders within their industries. This leads to long-term prosperity of the corporation.

With over 15 years of experience in wealth management, Dale Wannen was most recently Portfolio Manager and Director of Shareholder Advocacy with Harrington Investments. He holds a BA in Economics and earned his MBA in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco.
