Improve Your Own Pizza Delivery Efficiency

At least 80 percent of all pizzerias are offering delivery services these days. As such, companies that don’t offer the service will have challenges penetrating the market. The situation is even worse given the convenience of the online ordering system.

Pizza delivery is an effective way to grow revenue. It’ll help the firms to effectively manage the orders and grow their customer base. But that doesn’t mean that there won’t be challenges. The managers and restaurant operators will have to find a balance between the dine-in and order customers.

The management has to ensure the delivery guys have the necessary training, license and insurance covers. If you are running a pizza business, you need to work towards improving efficiency in your business. There are different tips that you can consider. They include the following.

  • Update Your POS System

If you want your delivery business to flourish, you need to be sure that it supports the delivery process. Without an effective POS system, it will be impossible to track the orders. You won’t be able to track your overall sales for the day.

Luckily, there are different POS systems available in the market today. Most of these systems support the pizza delivery business. All you need to do is choose the best system that meets your needs and wants.

Once you get the system, set a place where you can take these orders. Ensure you don’t disturb the dine-in customers as they have their meals.

In ordering a pizza, the customers will contact you, then you will process the order and set it for delivery.

  • Set the Company Expectations

What should the customers expect from your firm? If you say you’ll deliver the pizza in thirty minutes, ensure its thirty not one hour. If you delay, the clients won’t love your service. In the end, they’ll leave you for your competitors.

Ensure this doesn’t happen. The best way to do this is by setting firm expectations for your company with the employees. The entire delivery process should aim at meeting these expectations.

At times, the dine-in customers may be more than you expect. In such a case, prioritize on the dine-ins before making the deliveries. However, communicate in advance to your clients that the deliveries will be late.

The delivery process should never affect your dine-in customers. If it does, then your business isn’t efficient.

  • Have Your Own Delivery Fleet

Rather than hiring drivers to use their own vehicles, consider buying your own delivery fleets. The costs of insuring your employee’s cars will be higher in the long run. The payout limits are also quite low. This may leave your business slightly exposed.

However, in buying your own vehicle, you can ensure that they have the right insurance. You can also brand the vehicle to carry your logo and business contacts. Potential clients can take the contact details from the delivery truck and place an order.

Remind your drivers to be quick. However, this doesn’t mean they flout the traffic rules. No!
