ULFA Opposes Maoist Movement in Assam

While Paresh Baruah alias Paresh Asom led anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) had given their moral support to the left wings movement in Assam, pro-talk ULFA had raised their voice against the Maoists.

It was cleared the ideology difference between the two factions of ULFA pro-talk leader Arabinda Rajkhowa expressed his comment on the maoist issue.

“We could not support the Maoist arms movement in Assam,” the pro-talk ULFA leader told the media in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Talks between the ULFA and maoist leaders was held in several times.

The ULFA has made it clear that they oppose Maoist illegal activities spreading in Assam, Rajkhowa said.

Meanwhile, ULFA hardliner had given their moral support to the Maoists by issuing a statement sent to media, after four armed Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sadia area in Tinsukia district along the Arunachal border on May 9.

On 29th of April, the anti-talk ULFA gave an ultimatum for three months to its Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa to resume his post as head of the organization.
