At least seven people were killed and three others injured in two separate road mishaps in Assam in past 24 hours, officials said.
Six people were killed and three others injured in the road mishaps in Dima Hasao district on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place at Hingbungjaan, 10 km away from Mahur in the hill district, where a truck skidded off from road and fell down in a deep gorge.
“The driver of the truck lost his control over the vehicle and fell down in a deep gorge,” a police official said.
Six people killed on the spot and three others injured.
The injured persons were admitted at Haflong civil hospital.
In separate incident, a biker was killed at Chabua in Tinsukia district on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at NH-37, where a person was killed on spot after head on collision between a speedy truck and a motor cycle.
The victim was identified as Hiru Baruah.
