Three NDFB Militants Apprehended in Guwahati

Guwahati, February 6: Three hardcore cadres of the anti-talk faction group of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) were apprehended by security forces in Guwahati on Wednesday evening.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Guwahati City police and 121 bt of CRPF launched an operation at Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Guwahati and nabbed the militants on the way to Myanmar via Dimapur.

“The militant group used Guwahati as their transit base,” said Ranjan Bhuyan, Guwahati city police SP.

The nabbed militants were identified as Laisui Basumutary, Joangsar Basumutary and Astomi Basumutary.

Security forces recovered Rs 2.50 lakh cash in their possession.

On February 3, security forces arrested four hardcore cadres of the outfit group from Betkuchi area in the city.
