Prime Suspect of Guwahati Molestation Now Under Police Custody

A court of Kamrup district sent Amar Jyoti Kalita, the prime suspect of the Guwahati molestation case to five days police custody on Thursday, officials said.

The court of Kamrup CJM sent the suspect of the Guwahati molestation case after he faced the court in front of the Guwahati city police.

Amar Jyoti Kalita was arrested by police in Varanasi on July 23 and was brought to Guwahati on July 25.

He will face the court on July 30.

Meanwhile, Guwahati city police arrested another accused person on Thursday.

“We had arrested Rubul Ali, one of the accused suspects of the case from Baihata Chariali, some 30 kms from Guwahati,” Guwahati SP (operation branch) Ranjan Bhuyan said.

Police arrested 15 accused persons of the molestation case so far.
