Pakistan Facebook Lift

The Lahore High Court asked authorities to lift the ban on Facebook after it was stopped from showing, following, protests against its topics, content.

The uproar is about satiric images of political leaders that were posted, and anti-Islamic content about Prophet Hazrat Muhammad uploaded to the site.

“We don’t want to block access to information,” Judge Ejaz Chaudhry explained.

A system where unsuitable content can’t be accessed on the internet like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have in place is wanted, preferred.

“It is the government’s job to take care of such things, which spark resentment among the people and bring them onto the streets. They should take steps to block any blasphemous content on the Internet,” Judge Chaudhry explained.
