Karnataka State Still Safe for NE Workers and Students

On Saturday, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister R. Ashoka urged students and workers of the north eastern region to return home and assured them security in the state.

The students and workers reportedly fled the state after an attack.

During a discussion with students of Assam and other states of NE held in Guwahati, the Karnataka Deputy CM said Bangalore and the state is safe for the NE students and workers.

“No need to panic on the security issue,” R. Ashoka said.

Meanwhile, a team of Karnataka state government workers led by R Ashoka met Assam CM Tarun Gogoi and discussed the recent exodus issue and briefed him about the steps taken by the Karnataka state government.

“We have kept in touch with Assam state government and Railway to assist the people on their way back home,” the Karnataka Deputy CM said.

Recently, thousands of people of NE fled from south Indian states after they were threaten by SMS.
