Indian Army Helps Woman in Labor in East Karbi Anglong

The iron feast with velvet gloves

The famous saying iron feast with velvet gloves has been again proved correct by the Indian Army recently in general area Samilangso of East Karbi Anglong, the place where the force is conducting counter-insurgency operation.

On early morning of last Saturday, when the Army Patrol was crossing village Narazone Narong Pancho near Langlakso, they were informed by the villagers that a lady named Smt Lotika Kropi was undergoing labor pain and her situation was very critical.

However, due to non availability of means of transport the lady could not be evacuated to any nearby health centre.

Immediately, the Army arranged a vehicle for the lady from their camp and transported the lady to Dentaghat PHC, where the lady gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Humane touch even during the Hours of Duty has been key feature of this Army unit in Karbi Anglong. Army Camp, Diphu even conducted a medical camp in village Hema Ingtigaon under Police Station Bakuliya on 24 April 13 where approx 100 villagers including women and children were provided medical assistance by the Army doctor. Activities like these assistance have been able to earn love and respect for the Army among civil populace.
