Four People Trampled to Death By Wild Elephant in Assam

Wild elephant trampled four people including two children to death in two separate incidents in Assam on Saturday, officials said.

According to forest officials sources, 10 wild elephants trampled three people of a family to death at Mancachar area in Dhubri district on the wee hours of Saturday.

“The wild elephant herd destroyed at least 10 houses and killing people,” a forest official said.

Meanwhile, a child was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants at Lankajan area under Hojai sub division in Nagaon district on Saturday morning.

The elephants camen down from the hills searching food and destroyed paddy field and houses.

Local villagers urged the forest officials to control the wild elephant attack.
