Drone Strike Kills Five in North Waziristan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A US drone strike targeting a house killed five people in Pakistan’s tribal region of North Waziristan near the Afghan border on Tuesday, security officials said.

According to local sources, the strike took place early morning on Miranshah Bazaar, located in the town of Miranshah, in the troubled North Waziristan region, known as a strong bastion of Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked militants.

A CIA operated US drone fired two missiles at a home. As a result, five people were killed, and four others were injured in the attack.

The sources said that the death toll may increase as the injured were said to be in critical condition, adding the identities of those killed could not be immediately verified.
