A militant attack in Nagaland on Saturday resulted in the death of an Assam Rifles jawan.

The incident took place around 1 pm on Saturday in the Red Cross area of Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland.

Militants, possibly NSCN attacked an Assam Rifles patrol.

“The militants attacked the patrolling troops and a jawan sustained four bullet injuries,” an Assam Rifles official said.

Officials said that Assam Rifles and Nagaland police have launched an offensive operation against the militants.
