U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton today expressed condemnation on the recent attacks by the PKK in Turkey’s Hakkari province.

PKK is listed as a terrorist organization internationally by a number of states and organizations, including the United States and the European Union, according to Wikipedia.

“I join President Obama in offering our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed and injured in this tragedy.” -Ms. Clinton

Ms. Clinton stressed that the United States will continue its strong cooperation with Turkey as they work to combat violent extremism in all its forms and safeguard the security of peace-loving people everywhere.

PKK is a Kurdish organization which has been fighting an armed struggle against the Turkish state for an autonomous Kurdistan and greater cultural and political rights for the Kurds in Turkey. Its ideology was originally a fusion of revolutionary socialism and Kurdish nationalism.
