Birth of Brangelina Twins in France: Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline

It was Viva La France last night, as Angelina Jolie has just given birth to twins: one boy and one girl. Jolie’s obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, said the Oscar winner and humanitarian welcomed son, Knox Leon, and daughter, Vivienne Marcheline — both weighing at an estimate of five pounds, and/or a little more.

The father, Brad Pitt, was there during the birth at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France.

“Everything is going well” responded Sussmann. “The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well.”

Sussmann also stated that Angelina is expected to stay at the hospital for the next several days. He believed that she gave her daughter’s middle name in honor of Angelina’s mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died 18 months ago from her seven and a half year battle with cancer.

Today, Brangelina have already sent out the first pictures of the twins in print to an unnamed American publication.

According to local France newspaper Nice Matin, those pictures may have a net worth of $11 million — calling Knox and Vivienne “the most famous babies in the world”.

“These kinds of pictures sell lots of magazines”, said longtime London-based celebrity publicist Max Clifford. “It’s a 10-million-pound gamble as to whether the ends justify the means. But obviously, it’s a very calculated risk because whoever lands the photos will have a lot of experience with the popularity of mum and dad.”

Knox and Vivienne are now part of the ever-growing Pitt-Jolie brood — joining adopted six-year-old Maddox, four-year-old Pax, three-year-old Zahara, and biological two-year-old Sahara.

The mayor of Nice, Christian Estori, recently named the twins as honorary citizens– whether or not they’re going to take up citizenship there. Estori also said it was “a very great honor” for Brangelina to come give birth at the city.
