CECAFA Shocked By Somali Suicide Attack Which Killed Over 100 Students

The council of east and central African football associations ‘CECAFA’ has been shocked by the suicide attack in Somalia which killed over hundred people mainly students and wounded nearly 200 others including Somali Football Federation secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab and national team member Abdullahi Isse Mahmoud.

“This is a very sad story to come from Mogadishu when most people thought the situation was getting better. Please pass my condolences to the families who have lost their friends and relatives in this brutal suicide attack” the CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye said in a letter he sent to the Somali Football Federation over night on Tuesday.

“We are always with you in this very difficult situation and we hope that Somalia will once enjoy in peaceful time and prosperity” Mr. Musoney added in his letter to the Somali FA.

The suicide attacker driving a lorry full of explosives targeted the ministry of education where hundreds of students were waiting for the results of their examination for a Turkish scholarship.
