Carson Nugget in Nevada: Enjoy ‘The Home Away From Home’ Feeling

Carson City, Nevada is a small community where The Nevada Legislature of the U.S. state of Nevada is located. Founded in 1870, where the Capitol still stands, there are complimentary tours there.

Two blocks down the street is the Carson Nugget, the first casino to open in Carson in 1957. Since that time, the folks operating the casino have given back to the community and have played host the legislative leaders. Celebrityscene.com and Youtube.com/peteonthescene visited the casino with Star Anderson, the General Manager, and Julie Zappa the Executive Casino Host. Both add to the personal touch of the daily operations of this gaming establishment.

Home Away From Home Feeling

Locals and tourist alike enjoy the home away from home feeling of the Nugget. Part of that ambiance is the friendly employees, the slot specials, their food and their loose slots. This writer, particular enjoyed their home baked pies, cakes and pastries. Their cafe has daily specials and their steakhouse serves prime beef. With that said, they also have entertainment on the weekends and are the only casino in Carson to provide bingo to their patrons. Unlike big hotels, the Nugget has their hotel just a block away. The Nugget City Center Hotel, as it is appropriately called has complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee makers, refrigerators, irons and ironing boards, microwaves and hair dryers.

Chris Frizzell, the General manager and his staff, are very cordial and are available to help hotel guest roam places of interest. Most visitors enjoy the mining town of Virginia City and the Saber Foundation Tiger Zoo, where Peter Renzo feeds his Siberian and Bengal tigers by hand. For those who enjoy history and the little town atmosphere, Carson City is a great getaway.
