World Cup: Stalemate In Game 2 As France Draw 0-0 With Uruguay

After an exciting opening game it fell to Uruguay and France to provide the evening spectacle for second game of the day. With South Africa and Mexico drawing earlier the table was wide open and a win for either teams here would have given them an early lead in Group A, but neither team rose to the occasion.

The predictions clocked two out of two and pocketed plenty more money for the punters who had followed as France and Uruguay were locked in a 0-0 stalemate.

Govou had an earlier chance to put the French in the lead but his deft touch was too meek and it trickled past the post. Ribery and Anelka also looked bright but a strong spell of French dominance soon petered out. Forlan looked promising for Uruguay and tested the ‘keeper with a fierce shot in the first half but there was little to take to the tunnel at the break.

In the second half the teams shared possession with few chances either way. Both went for the win until Lodeiro was shown a second yellow for Uruguay with ten minutes to go. The South American team spent the remainder of the game trying to hold onto what they had and with a lack-lustre French team trying and failing to break them down, they did just that.

All four sides in Group A are now level with 1 point.

Two big earners for the predictions though and if you want to keep track of the rest of the predictions be sure to check out the article for tomorrow’s games here and keep your eyes open for another which will anticipate the games from Sunday onwards.
