World Cup: Slovenia 1-0 Algeria, Blunder Wins Boring Game For Slovenia

Algeria and Slovenia played early on day 3 of this Word Cup and they nearly sent the viewers back to sleep.

The game lacked skill, passion, movement and chances. There was nothing to take from the first half at all and the same went for the majority of the second half. With twenty minutes to go something finally gave when Ghezzal, who had not long since come on as a substitute, was sent off for Algeria after receiving two yellow cards.

Slovenia then seemed to have the opportunity they needed to go and win this game but they didn’t seem to bother attacking. Luckily for them, a twenty yard snap-shot from Robert Koren managed to go through the Goalkeeper’s hands and find its way into the net. One of the few shots on goal and a shot that turned out to be the winning goal for Slovenia who now go to the top of Group C, which has seen its second Goalkeeping blunder in two matches.

This game was also a score for the Newsblaze predictions where I tipped that Slovenia would win to nil, although I did say 2-0 not 1-0, but after watching this game I’m not too bothered, I’m just happy it’s over and have my fingers crossed that the next game will not be such a tedious affair.

The rest of the day promises more excitement.
