Premiership Roundup: Chelsea and Bolton Both Bag Four

A big day in the Premiership today which opened with a 3-1 win for Tottenham against Blackburn as reported in an earlier article.

Chelsea maintained their lead at the top when they trampled West Ham 4-1 with goals from Alex, Malouda and a brace from Drogba, but they were tied 1-1 at half-time after Parker cracked in a beautiful strike for West Ham.

Bolton also bagged four against Wigan, running rampant against the side who recently beat Liverpool and making-up for their own 4-0 defeat to Sunderland with goals from Elmander, Muamba, Taylor and Davis.

Stoke City and Aston Villa were held to a goalless draw, with Birmingham also picking up a point against Everton after a fierce 2-2 draw which saw them come back from 2-0 down after Jerome and Gardner replied to strikes from Anichebe and Yakubu.

Wolves won 2-1 away to Burnley in one of the shock results of the day (as predicted in last weeks Premiership Predictions) when a goal from Jarvis and an OG from Carlise helped them through the game. Thompson did reply late on but Wolves has this game neatly sewn up.

As far as the predictions went today. Both Chelsea and Tottenham won with the handicap’s expected and Chelsea also found themselves 1-1 down at one point so I hope there were plenty of punters on In-Play bets then. The 2-2 between Birmingham and Everton was also a correct Draw prediction although more goals went in than I had anticipated, whilst the biggest prediction of the day came when Wolves won away to Burnley.

I made a sound profit from those games, so I hope others won well too. Stoke/Aston Villa was a disappointing game and Bolton/Wigan was certainly not the draw that I had expected, but you can’t win them all…unfortunately.

Hull/Arsenal are due to kick off half an hour after I write this and a report of that game will go up when it has finished.
